Mother and Daughter Admit Embezzlement

Utah’s 911 system operator recently stated that the agency had been the victim of a mother/daughter team that had allegedly used agency credit cards to fraudulently charge vacations and shopping binges over the last few years totalling $1 million. The mother in this case was the administrative assistant for the executive director of the Utah Communication Authority. She was able to manipulate the credit card statements to hide the fraud since 2005.

The state auditor is conducting an investigation and the executive director of the agency has resigned amid all the turmoil.
